The Isle of Wight Foodbank has announced it will be relocating its Sandown distribution hub (The Bay) from YMCA (Winchester House) to Lake Methodist Church next month.
The final session at the current site (in Winchester House Chapel) will be Thursday 4th September followed by the official move on Tuesday, 9th September 2025. From that date onward, the food bank will operate from Lake Methodist Church, 42 Sandown Road, Sandown, PO36 9JT.
The move comes as part of an effort to maintain serving the East Wight community.
“We’re very grateful to the YMCA at Winchester House for their support over the years; the new location at Lake Methodist Church will allow us to continue meeting the growing need for food banks in a space that’s suitable and sustainable,” said Kay Lewis, Manager of the Isle of Wight Foodbank. “We’re looking forward to welcoming clients to our new home in Lake and are very grateful to the church for offering us their space.”
The Isle of Wight Foodbank provides essential support to individuals and families in crisis across the Island. The team has assured clients that services will continue as normal during the transition, with volunteers on hand to assist anyone needing guidance about the new location.
Local residents, referral partners, and supporters are encouraged to note the change and spread the word to ensure a smooth transition.
